No Citations In Crash Near Lyons Township High: Chief
A lawsuit alleged the driver was at fault for the incident near North Campus.

LA GRANGE, IL – A lawsuit alleges that a driver was at fault for hitting a pedestrian after school near Lyons Township High School's North Campus in May.
But La Grange Police Chief Timothy Griffin said no citations were issued in the crash.
Both the pedestrian and driver were Lyons Township seniors at the time.

Last week, the pedestrian sued the driver in Cook County Court, contending the driver failed to yield the right of way to the pedestrian and drove at a speed that endangered people.
As a result, the pedestrian suffered temporary and permanent injuries, the lawsuit said.

According to the lawsuit, the student was walking in a crosswalk at Burlington and Brainard avenues after school when he was hit by the driver of a 2006 Jeep Wrangler.
For a Patch story in June, the pedestrian's attorney, G. Grant Dixon III, described his client's injuries. The pedestrian remained in a hospital for two weeks, Dixon said.
