• Illinois officials warn residents after coyote takes dog from yard, carries it into woods (thecooldown.com) — Lake Bluff officials are warning residents to closely supervise small pets after a coyote grabbed a family dog from a yard near nearby woods, an incident believed to be the first of its kind in town. Police are working with state wildlife authorities, and the village is urging residents to avoid feeding coyotes, remove outdoor food sources, and use loud noises and large gestures to scare them away.
