6th Annual Service Day Connects Deer Path Middle School Students With Community
The school has a goal of devoting 2018 hours to community service this year.

LAKE FOREST, IL — Eighth graders at Deer Path Middle School in Lake Forest had their pick of more than a dozen different volunteer activities to dedicate their days to last Friday as part of the school's sixth annual Community Service Day, Daily North Shore reports. Deer Path's 2018 graduating class of about 230 students has been given a goal of completing 2018 hours of community service before May.
The day of giving back is organized by members of the Association of Parents and Teachers at the school, as students helped out at a wide variety of locations in and around Lake Forest.

Participating organizations included: Beacon Place, Bernie's Book Bank, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Lake County, CROYA, Elawa Farm, Equestrian Connection, Fill a Heart 4 Kids, House of Peace, a Lake County Forest Preserve, Lake County Haven, Lake Forest Library, Lake Forest Open Lands, Ragdale Foundation, the West Deerfield Township Food Pantry and the Wildlife Discovery Center.
