Asbestos Removal Planned for Summer at Deer Path Middle School

Carpeting and asbestos will be replaced with new tile before start of 2016-17 school year.

District 67 officials said carpeting and asbestos will be removed and replaced with new tile in the east building, the Lake Forester reports. The district will pay $266,000 to Husar Abatement for the removal. Asbestos has existed in the building since it was built in 1954.

The project is expected to take three weeks.
