Boy on Bike Hit by Car in Downtown Lake Forest

The 12-year-old avoided serious injuries when he was struck on Westminster Avenue on Monday.

LAKE FOREST, IL - A young boy on a bicycle was hit by a car Monday afternoon in Lake Forest.

The 12-year-old boy was riding his bicycle around 4:15 p.m. in the 200 block of East Westminster Avenue when he rode into traffic and was hit, according to a Daily North Shore. He only suffered minor injuries.

“He was goofing off with friends when he turned from the parking lot into the street,” Lake Forest Police Commander Craig Lepkowski told the DNS. “There was no marked crosswalk or intersection.”

The boy’s mother was called to pick him up.
