Don't Be A Turkey In Traffic This Holiday
Cops statewide are cracking down on crackpot drivers this Thanksgiving.

The Illinois Department of Transportation is joining forces with local and state law enforcement agencies to keep the roads safe over Thanksgiving weekend and all holiday season.
The goal is to ”keep roadways safe and traffic fatalities on pace for the lowest total since 2009,” according to an IDOT press release.

On Tuesday, IDOT, along with Illinois State Police, will announce the holiday crack down at a press conference in Chicago. They will have a will also have a live seat belt check at Columbus and Balbo.
Chicago Police Department and Cook County Sheriff’s Office will also be represented at the conference.

The officials are reminding motorists of the ”Click it or Ticket” and the ”Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaigns.
