Everett School to Honor Veterans with Assembly

On Wednesday, November 11, at 10:10 a.m. the staff and students of Everett School in Lake Forest will celebrate Veterans Day at an all school assembly. Family members of 1st through 4th grade students who are Military Veterans and/or active duty personnel are invited to join Everett School as honored guests. Students will have the opportunity to introduce their most honored guest at the assembly and his/her branch of service will be recognized. Veterans will also be asked to help teachers guide a lesson on Teamwork and Caring in their classroom following the assembly.

The Teamwork and Caring lesson will be conducted using the book, One, by Kathryn Otoshi. The students will receive a common message and participate in thoughtful conversations about ways to make everyONE count at Everett School. Everett’s Emotional Wellness Committee and first grade team have collaborated to plan this important school community lesson – the first of a series of school community learning opportunities.
