FOX LAKE HOSTS 2016 POLAR PLUNGE TO RAISE MONEY FOR SPECIAL OLYMPICS ILLINOIS

Sunday, February 28 starting at 1pm, Lakefront Park

FOX LAKE, IL (NOVEMBER, 2015) – The Village of Fox Lake invites the community to

bravely “Take the Plunge” into the frigid waters of Nippersink Lake from the shores at Lakefront Park, to raise money for Special Olympics Illinois on Sunday, February 28, starting at 1pm. In 2016, Fox Lake is thrilled to be a part of the Polar Plunge challenge where thousands of brave jumpers at 21 locations across Illinois support this worthy cause.

Participants must raise a minimum of $100 in donations from family, friends, and co-workers to take a dip in the icy waters. The money collected will go toward benefiting the Young Athletes of Special Olympics Illinois. Additional incentive prizes will be rewarded to participants who collect $250, $500 and $1,000 in donations.

Anyone may participate in diving in the frigid waters, but people under 18 must have a waiver signed by their parent or guardian. Plungers will also receive an official Polar Plunge hooded sweatshirt and entrance to a Post-Plunge party.
