LAKE FOREST, IL - High school seniors from Lake Forest, Lake Bluff and Knollwood are eligible for up to three $2,000 college scholarship grants from The Friends of Lake Forest Library.

The library support group is sponsoring an essay contest that will run from Feb. 1 to April 1. Winners will “clearly demonstrate a passion for reading as shown through their extracurricular activities,” according to a flyer.

The scholarship began in 2003 as a way to “recognize students whose lives are enriched by reading.”

Those interested should submit an application, 500-word essay and a letter of recommendation from a non-relative.
