Lake Bluff School Bus Fees To Return In 2018

"Free rides" to end because of rising cost, clashing schedules.

LAKE BLUFF, IL — After next year, Lake Bluff School District 65 will resume charging fees for student bus transportation, the Lake Forester reports.

The board stopped charging fees after the 2012-2013 school year, but Supt. Jean Sophie told the paper the district will no longer be able to avoid charging fees after the next school year.

The district has not decided how high the fees will be. The move was forced by this year's change to Lake Forest High School's starting time, which meant Lake Bluff's elementary and middle schools could no longer share the same bus service, according to the Lake Forester.
