Lake Bluff Students Will Take PARCC Next Week
Superintendent says students are "ready" for state-mandated assessments.

Lake Bluff schools will administer the state-mandated Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) assessment over the next week, according to a news release issued Tuesday.
“Our students, teachers, and systems are ready,” said Dr. Jean Sophie, Superintendent of Schools. “We’ve been preparing for these assessments for a long time and have worked to realign our curriculum so our students should be well-prepared for these assessments.”
The first assessments, the Performance Based Assessments (PBA), are designed to assess student learning in the areas of math and English/Language Arts. The English/Language Arts (ELA) PBA will focus on writing effectively when analyzing text. The mathematics PBA will focus on applying skills, concepts, and understandings to solve multi-step problems requiring abstract reasoning, precision, perseverance, and strategic use of tools.
