Lake Forest And Lake Bluff Debates: Hosted By League Of Women Voters
LWV-LF/LB set to host debates March 12 and March 19.

LAKE FOREST, IL — The League of Women Voters-Lake Forest/Lake Bluff Area (LWV-LF/LB) is holding two sets of candidate debates for contested school, municipal, and township races.
Candidates for the following offices have been invited to participate on Sunday, March 12, according to LWV-LF/LB.
- Lake Forest High School District #115
- Lake Forest School District #67
- Lake Forest Alderman 2nd Ward
This first set of debates will be held in the Lake Forest High School Auditorium, 1285 N. McKinley Rd. Doors open at 1:00 p.m., with the first debate starting at 1:30.

Wyn Cain, President of the League of Women Voters- Lake Forest/Lake Bluff Area, expressed gratitude to Lake Forest High School for making the Auditorium available for this civic event. A large space was required to accommodate the anticipated crowd.
The race for High School Board is stirring controversy and generating some unusually large campaign contributions for a local race.

With eight contenders vying for four LFHS D115 board openings, the afternoon should prove to be an engaging one.
The following Sunday, March 19, a second set of debates will be held at the Lake Bluff Recreation Center, 355 W. Washington Ave. Doors will open at 1:30 p.m. with a debate starting at 2:00 p.m.
Candidates running for the Village of Lake Bluff Board of Trustees, L.B. Village Clerk, and Shields Township Supervisor have been invited.
The format for each event will be similar: candidates will present an opening statement and then participate in a question-and-answer segment. They will finish with a closing statement. Index cards will be provided to audience members for submitting questions to the candidates.
Candidates are:
#115 – Thomas Nemickas, Sally Davis, Ted Moorman, David Lane, Cindy Good, Jennifer Neubauer, Patrick Marshall, and Lisa Mienville.
#67 – Mike Borkowski, Robert Lemke, Patrick Patt, Alice Levert, and Jeff Folker.
L.F. Alderman Ward 2 – Melanie Rummel and Paul Hamann.
L.B. Trustee – Bill Meyer, Eric Grenier, Aaron Towle, and Kate Briand.
L.B. Clerk – Joy Markee and Sarah Raymoure Wnek.
Shields Township Supervisor – Teresa “Terry” Darraugh and Cynthia Maloney
The League sponsors candidate debates as a service to the community and works to help voters become educated about the candidates and issues. The debates are being videotaped by Lake Forest TV and will be rebroadcast on public access channels 17 and 19. The videos also will be posted on the LWV-LF/LB website and on YouTube.
