Lake Forest Obituary: Virginia Fitzgerald
She was an entrepreneur, a leader, a role model and a friend.

Virginia “Lynn” Fitzgerald, was lifted up to her eternal home at 9:46am on Thursday August 14, 2014. She passed very peacefully with her devoted husband, three adoring children and her best friend and sister Holly by her side.
Lynn was the kindest, gentlest soul. She was an entrepreneur, a leader, a role model and a friend. But the roles that she held closest to her heart were that of a Wife, Mother and Grandmother. She taught us all the importance of family; how to love and care for one another; how to listen and forgive each other, how to laugh and how to cry together. She was such an amazing influence in our family, her circle of friends and in the community. Many knew Lynn as the owner of Fitzgerald’s Photography located in Lake Forest for almost 35 years. We will all miss her dearly.
Lynn is survived by her husband Ray, son Colt (Kristin) Fitzgerald, daughters Kelley (Brian) Imhoff and Holly (Hans) Matson and adoring grandchildren Megann, Eliza, Greer, Lily, Margaret, Jack, Lars, Grace and Charlotte.
A visitation will be held on Monday August 25th from 6-9pm at Wenban Funeral Home located at 320 Vine Avenue in Lake Forest, IL. A celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday August 26th at 10am at Lily Reid Holt Chapel located at 555 North Sheridan Road in Lake Forest, IL. Info – www.wenbanfh.com or 847-234-0022.
Forty seven years ago, Lynn and Ray lost their very best friend in the Vietnam War. They have carried his legacy on in many ways over the years. One very special tribute is a scholarship in Bill’s honor presented by Ray to a deserving high school athlete each year. Lynn would be tickled to know that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Bill Rawson Memorial Scholarship Fund, 851 Oakwood Avenue, Lake Forest, IL 60045.
