LFHS Lacrosse Players Named All-Stars at National Tournament

Audrey Kaus and Caroline Skinner competed against the top prep players in the country.

Two Lake Forest High School girls varsity lacrosse players - Audrey Kaus and Caroline Skinner, both incoming sophomores - were recently selected to play for Team Illinois in the 2015 Brine National High School All American tournament, where regional teams composed of the top prep lacrosse players in the country compete for the national title.

“I was really thrilled to be named to the Illinois team,” said Kaus. “It’s a great feeling being able to represent my state playing the game that I love. Being named an all-star and playing in that game was the icing on the cake.”

Skinner agreed, calling it “a great challenge and a lot of fun.”

Kaus noted that playing against combined top talent from other states allowed her to showcase herself at a high level, “even with girls you never met before.”

Kaus was named to the National team and Skinner to the opposing American squad.

It’s no doubt the competition the pair were exposed to nationally will make them better players at the local level as well.

“Over the next three years at Lake Forest High School, my goal is to become more of a leader and playmaker,” Kaus said. “I want to try and fill the void that was made when our seniors left. I also want to become someone who players look up to, on and off the field. “

“I am excited to be able to return to the field with many of the young talented players we had last year at LF,” added Skinner. “We hope to continue to grow as a team and a program and advance further into the playoffs.

“My ultimate goal would to win a state championship by my senior year.”
