The appointment is the result of an extensive search and selection process. Administration met with parents and staff and used an online survey to develop the profile of a successful candidate. The comprehensive interview structure involved staff, parents and administration. The district thanks all who participated in this important process.

Superintendent Mike Simeck states, "We are very pleased with the outcome of our search, having sought and obtained a candidate with a background of student advocacy and collaborative skills with staff and parents. As we all know, Dr. Sopko will have very large shoes to fill and ample challenges as she strives to improve further on Dr. Wiemer's success in building such a high-performing team at Everett. Through hiring an executive search firm, we were able to field an unusually large group of seated principals. From that field and after significant background checks, we believe Dr. Sopko's past performance and the likelihood of future similar performance are a great match for Everett and a win for our district."
An opportunity to meet Dr. Sopko will be announced later this summer. Please join the district in welcoming this outstanding educational professional to Lake Forest.
