Openings Available at Little Scouts Preschool

Openings are available at Little Scouts Preschool in Lake Forest, a program that has been in operation with Lake Forest High School for nearly 20 years.

According to a District 67 news release, Little Scouts’ programs are available not only to the families and faculty of Districts 65, 67, 115, but also to families in the surrounding communities.

“The goal of Little Scouts is to provide a safe and happy environment where child can grow and learn. Little Scouts staff encourage creativity, good thinking skills, and cooperation to accomplish common goals and are dedicated to providing the best possible care and instruction in an environment that is stimulating to children and encourages exploration and independent thinking. The curriculum is theme based with weekly topics that encompass science, art, literacy, and math concepts.”

Little Scouts offers full and half-day preschool and pre-kindergarten programs. Flexible scheduling options include year-round and summer options.

Program Overview

• Infant through pre-k classes held at the Lake Forest High School - West Campus building

• Pre-K “Handwriting without Tears” curriculum

• Low teacher child ratio

• Daily hours: 6:45 a.m. -5:15 p.m.

• Half-day program: 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

• Daily preschool structured program for ages 2-5 follows a traditional curriculum with a hand-on approach to learning.

• 2-5 day options available

• Full day program receives two healthy snacks and a hot lunch daily; half-day receives one nutritional snack and lunch daily

Little Scout Staff

• Little Scout staff are all employed by Lake Forest High School

• All staff have education and experience in Early Childhood Education

• All teachers are CPR and First Aid certified

• All teachers participate in 15 additional hours of early education yearly
