Overnight Burglaries Hit Lake Bluff
Police say cars, and in one case a garage, were left unlocked.

A string of overnight burglary to auto incidents occurred in east Lake Bluff from 10:30 p.m. Monday to 6:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Lake Bluff Police Deputy Chief Mike Hosking said the department has take “approximately 9 separate cases” of items missing from automobiles that were unlocked in residential driveways. One of the cases, Hosking added, included a vehicle being parked in an unlocked garage where entry was gained to another locked garage by using the garage door opener left in an unlocked automobile located in the driveway.
Items taken from the vehicles include cash, loose change, sunglasses, car and house keys and one purse.

Residents are encouraged to always lock their vehicles in their driveways and secure their belongings inside their locked residences and are also encouraged to immediately call the Lake Bluff Police (“9-1-1“) if they hear or see anyone in or around their houses or vehicles. Anyone who believes they may have observed the illegal activities or suspicious persons during the listed time frame are encouraged to contact Hosking.
