Highland Park Shooter Knew Victim, Police Say
Police have one suspect in custody after shooting on Deerfield Road Friday afternoon.

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — A suspect is in custody after a man was shot at in his car on the 1800 block of Deerfield Road around 4:00 p.m. Friday, Highland Park Police.
The man's car was apparently hit by bullets but he was uninjured and managed to drive himself to the Highland Park Police Department. Officers responded to the scene of the reported shooting and spoke to witnesses who described the alleged shooter's car.
After a description was broadcast, Deerfield police quickly found the vehicle and arrested the alleged offender who had two guns in their car, according to Highland Park police.

The suspect's identity will be released after charges have been officially filed, police said.
The shooting was a targeted act, not random, and the victim was known to the suspect, according to Highland Park Police. Police added that an initial investigation has found the suspect displayed a gun to the driver of a delivery truck, ordering him to drive away.
