Stolen Gun Found With Felon On Probation Over Firearm: Blotter

Winnetka, Wilmette, Evanston and Chicago motorists charged with drunk driving on the Lake Forest police blotter from Oct. 30 - Nov. 8.

LAKE FOREST, IL — The following information comes from the Lake Forest Police Department and court records as a record of those arrested by police. Readers are reminded that an arrest is not an indication of guilt and criminal charges, which represent merely accusations by the state, are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Lake County Circuit Clerk of Courts. All persons named are innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

ARRESTS

Jonathan D. Perry, 19, of the 2300 block of Gilead Avenue, Zion, was arrested following a traffic stop around 7:15 p.m. on Oct. 27 in the area of Route 41 at Old Elm Road. Officers pulled over a car driven by a family member, smelled cannabis and later found a loaded .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun. Police learned Perry was on probation after he pleaded guilty in July to a gun felony and the pistol had been reported stolen from a burglary in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin. Perry was charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and possession of a weapon by a felon and ordered held in lieu of a $20,000 cash portion of his bond ahead of a Nov. 30 court appearance.

Artemio Lopez, 22, of the first block of Indian Hill Road, Winnetka, was arrested around 3:15 a.m. on Oct. 28 in the area of Route 41 and Westleigh Road and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and without insurance after officers pulled over a Volvo going well below the speed limit and swerving in and out of its lane. Police found several empty beer cans around the front seat and Lopez produced a breath test indicating a blood alcohol concentration of nearly twice the legal limit.

Jaime Navarrete-Osorio, 32, of the 300 block of Wisconsin avenue, Waukegan, was arrested shortly after 9 p.m. on Oct. 28 in the area of Route 60 and Ridge Road and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police pulled over a silver pickup truck after it committed traffic violations and the driver showed signs of being impaired by alcohol.

A 21-year-old Mound, Minnesota, man was arrested around 10 p.m. on Oct. 28 in the area of Route 41 and Westleigh Road and charged with driving with a revoked license after he was pulled over for traffic violations in a white Ford van. He was also cited for no vehicle insurance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Javan S. Quiroz, 21, of the 1800 block of Brown Avenue, Evanston, was arrested around 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 1 in the area of Route 41 and Westleigh Road. Police responded to a 911 call about a person slumped over the wheel of a black Lincoln SUV. Officers awoke Quiroz and reported he appeared to be intoxicated and smelled of alcohol. He became combative when asked to perform sobriety tests and refused any testing. He was charged with one count of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Juan Alfaro, 41, of the 1900 block of West 21st Street, Chicago, was arrested around 12:15 a.m. on Nov. 3 in the area of Route 41 and Westleigh Road following a traffic stop on a silver Jeep driving erratically. Officers reported the driver smelled of alcohol and appeared impaired, and subsequently produced a breath sample that indicated a blood alcohol concentration of 2.5 times the legal limit. Alfaro was charged with DUI – alcohol, DUI – alcohol with a BAC of 0.08 or above and cited for improper lane usage, improper turn signal.

A 30-year-old Waukegan man was arrested around 3 a.m. on Nov. 3 in the area of Routes 41 and 176 and charged with driving with a suspended license following a 911 call about an SUV driving erratically with one headlight out.

Sharon M. Sullivan, 50, of the 800 block of Ridge Road, Wilmette, was arrested around 7 p.m. on Nov. 3 in the area of Sheridan Road and McCormack Drive and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. Officers pulled her over after noticing a gray Honda driving erratically in the area of Westleigh and Sheridan roads. Police reported an open container of alcohol on the passenger floorboard and that Sullivan smelled of alcohol. She was also issued a citation for illegal transportation of alcohol.
