WANTED: School Board Committee Members

LAKE FOREST, IL — The Board of Education of District 67 invited all Lake Forest residents, parents and non-parents alike, to apply for positions on two committees. Interviews will begin next month for two-year terms beginning in the fall, the district announced.

Community representatives interact with board members and administrators, participate in the important committee work of the district, and provide invaluable input from our citizens, parents and other stakeholders, the district said.

The District 67 board is seeking members for the following committees:

Education Committee - This committee provides oversight to all major District educational initiatives, new programs, and makes recommendations to the Board of Education on major topics or matters related to curriculum and instruction. The committee provides guidance to management on the accomplishment of educational strategic initiatives and improvement of student outcomes. (This committee usually meets bi-monthly throughout the school year.)

Finance/Operations Committee - This committee participates in the shaping of strategic financial directions and monitors all policies related to the financial administration of District 67. In addition, this committee contributes valuable input to the District's operational areas: facility management, transportation, and food service. (This committee usually meets 5 to 6 times per year, typically Tuesday mornings from 8:00 - 9:30am.)
