When to Register Your Child for Kindergarten or Pre-K in Lake Bluff

Important dates ahead for parents of young students in Lake Bluff.

LAKE BLUFF, IL - The kindergarten and pre-Kindergarten registration process for the 2017-2018 school year at Lake Bluff School District 65 opens Friday, Jan. 6 with online pre-registration.

Registration is open to Lake Bluff children who will be: 3 years old on or before September 1, 2017 (3 year old Pre-Kindergarten Class - 12 spots available)

4 years old on or before September 1, 2017 (4 year old Pre-Kindergarten Class - 2 spots available)

5 years old on or before September 1, 2017 (Kindergarten Program)

The first step in the Registration process is Online Pre-Registration.

Beginning January 6, you can register online here.

To use a laptop with internet access, visit Lake Bluff Elementary School (350 W. Washington Avenue, Lake Bluff, IL 60044) or the new District 65 office in the lower level of Lake Bluff Middle School (separate entrance is on the north side, 121 E. Sheridan Place, Lake Bluff, IL 60044) in person Monday through Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Once Pre-Registration is complete, the next step is to attend Parent Information Night on Thursday, January 26 at 6:30 p.m. at Lake Bluff Elementary School.

The final step is to attend the proof of residency registration events on Tuesday, Feb. 7 with a copy of their child's birth certificate and three allowable proofs of residency. Parents can choose to attend between 8:00

a.m. and noon at the Lake Bluff Park District, 355 W. Washington Ave. or between 4-7 p.m. at Lake Bluff Elementary School, 350 W. Washington Ave.

Allowable proofs of residency (three are required) include:

1. Parent’s drivers license

2. Home ownership title or deed

3. Home or apartment lease

4. Voter registration

5. Utility bills (water, electric, gas) within past three (3) months

6. Automobile insurance

Telephone and cable bills cannot be accepted as proof of residency.
