The second time was the charm for Illinois Math and Science Academy student Shouri Bochetty, who took home first place in the 2019 Chicago Brain Bee held at Lake Forest College.

Bochetty, a sophomore, scored highest in the annual neuroscience bee that drew more than 60 teens from 18 Chicago-area high schools to Lake Forest on February 9.

“I was thrilled when I won the Brain Bee competition this year,” Bochetty said. “Last year, I made it to the final round, but couldn’t make it to the top. I’m glad to see my hard work finally paid off.”
