Known Gang Member a Victim of Lake View Shooting
Gang signs were seen just before two people, including one Gangster Disciple, were shot at Belmont and Sheffield last week.
CHICAGO, IL - At least one of the victims of last week's overnight shooting near Sheffield and Belmont in Lake View is a documented gang member.
44th Ward Ald. Tom Tunney wrote in his weekly newsletter the 25-year-old black man shot near the busy intersection just after 3 a.m. is a Gangster Disciple "with a long criminal history." It's unknown if the other victim, a 16-year-old boy, is a gang member. Neither live in Lake View.
Tunney said police reports indicate three offenders were seen throwing gang signs before firing multiple shots from a black Chevy Suburban.
