• Jack O'Lantern World Brings Pumpkin Art to Illinois (q985online.com) — Lake Zurich is hosting Jack O'Lantern World this October, a walk-through trail of thousands of intricately carved, illuminated pumpkins arranged in more than 20 themed worlds. The attraction includes food, drinks, a daytime pumpkin patch with inflatables and mini golf, and requires advance online ticket purchases before nights sell out.
   

• Benched in 2nd half, Libertyville's Jackson Yarc returns to beat Lake Zurich with TD pass he won't soon forget (chicagotribune.com) — Lake Zurich football fans saw a tough North Suburban Conference loss Friday as Libertyville's quarterback, briefly benched earlier, returned to lead an 84-yard game-winning drive in the final minutes. His 7-yard touchdown pass with 19 seconds left sealed Libertyville's 14-10 win and shifted first place in the conference race.
