Body Recovered From Lake Off Lake Forest

Police are now saying that a body has been recovered from Lake Michigan, NBC Chicago reports.

An autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow, according to TribLocal. 

ABC7 is reporting that a woman's shoes and sweater were found on shore.

Divers went into the water after multiple calls about a female swimmer in distress around 8 a.m. this morning, according to NBC Chicago. As of 11 a.m., no one had been found.

Rescue workers from more than 20 towns were on the scene.

Rescue crews from multiple departments as well as the U.S. Coast Guard are conducting a rescue effort in Lake Michigan off the Lake Forest shore Thursday morning, according to NBC Chicago.

The effort is underway off the 500 block of Forest Park Drive.There are multiple ambulances at the scene and at least half a dozen departments involved, the report says.
