C.A.T.I.F. Hosts 6th Annual 'Pay it Forward' Fundraiser

The Palatine-based non-profit has raised nearly $100,000 over the last several years to support other charities.

On Friday, February 27, Palatine-based non-profit C.A.T.I.F. [Celebrating All That Is Feminine] will host its 6th annual Pay it Forward fundraiser at Durty Nellie’s.

C.A.T.I.F. is not your average charitable organization; its mission is to raise funds for other established non-profits who serve women and children in crisis. It was formed by a group of professional women who have dedicated themselves to ‘paying it forward’ to others.

Since 2009, C.A.T.I.F. has raised nearly $100,000 and donated funds to the following organizations:

  • Palatine Opportunity Center ROLE - crisis assistance, counseling, health and wellness support to women in Palatine Township.
  • Jesse Brown VA Medical Center - at-risk women veterans returning from service.
  • Kappa Kappa Gamma Girls Academy - at-risk girls.
  • PHD - a counseling center for pregnancy help and education.
  • Home of the Sparrow - homeless women and children in northern Illinois.
  • WINGS-Women in Need Growing Stronger - women and children of domestic violence.
  • Lazarus House-female homeless or at - risk homeless.
  • Elgin Community Crisis Center - women and children experiencing domestic violence, sexual assault and financial difficulties.

The beneficiaries for the upcoming Pay it Forward fundraisers are the Palatine Opportunity Center ROLE program and the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center.

Tickets are $50 and available online until Friday, February 20 at the C.A.T.I.F. website, and include two happy hour cocktails and heavy appetizers. The Pay it Forward event also will include silent and live auctions and exciting raffle prizes. The ticket price will be $60 at the door.

Join C.A.T.I.F. on Friday, February 27 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Durty Nellie’s, 180 N. Smith Street in downtown Palatine.
