Sauer, McConchie Property Tax Forum Draws Capacity Crowd

Last night, State Rep. Nick Sauer and State Sen. Dan McConchie held a property tax forum at Libertyville Township.

LIBERTYVILLE – Last night, State Representative Nick Sauer (R-Lake Barrington) and State Senator Dan McConchie (R-Hawthorn Woods) held a forum at Libertyville Township to inform residents about the process for determining property taxes and how to appeal if property has been over-assessed.

“The turnout last night is another clear affirmation of why it is critical to reform Illinois’ property tax system,” said McConchie.

“As we continue to fight for reform in Springfield, we hope the information presented last night will be a valuable resource to help residents better understand and navigate the overly burdensome system currently in place,” added Sauer.

Due to the capacity attendance, Sauer and McConchie will make presentation materials from the event available on their websites and, if feasible, schedule another event in the fall.

Special thanks to Libertyville Township, and local assessors John Barrington, Peggy Freeze and Rebecca Tonigan.
