The Top 7 Highest-Paid Democratic Staffers in the Illinois Legislature

As House Democratic lawmakers in the Illinois General Assembly raised questions about how and out of what department a top education manager was being paid, the Rauner administration last week issued a list of seven top Democratic staffers and their salaries.

Democrats raised questions about why Education Secretary Beth Purvis was being paid out of the human services department. That practice has been likened to “ghost payrolling” or “off shoring” and has been done by both Republicans and Democrats over the years.

So now that we gave you six of Rauner’s superstars and their pay, today we give you a corresponding list of the highest-paid Democratic staffers in the General Assembly.
