Wauconda Church Holds Jazz Service in Memory of Local Volunteer Leader
Gathering will feature prominent Chicago musicians and memories of Lake Zurich's Bob Cloud

Wauconda, Illinois — March 3, 2015 Beloved community figure Bob Cloud, a longtime volunteer for the Lake County Veterans Assistance Commission, Love INC Southwest, and Messiah Lutheran Church, will be remembered on Sunday night at a special jazz service he helped to bring about. Featuring music by Chicago’s Frank Portolese Quartet, the service will include times of prayer and reflection as well as a remembrance of Mr. Cloud’s contributions to his community.
“Bob was an important part of this community and he touched a lot of lives,” Pastor Ben Dueholm said, noting that Cloud was especially touched by the needs of veterans and people living in poverty. “He served faithfully, week in and week out, at the VAC and Love INC in addition to being a reliable presence in our own ministries,” Pastor Dueholm added. He died in December—after urging Messiah to start a jazz vespers service, but before the first event could be held.
The service will take place at 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 8th at Messiah Lutheran Church, 25225 W. Ivanhoe Road in Wauconda.
