55 New Coronavirus Cases In Lemont Over Past Week
Lemont (ZIP code 60439) has 524 cases of coronavirus reported as of Oct. 19, compared to 469 cases on Oct. 12.
LEMONT, IL — The number of Lemont's coronavirus cases increased by 55 cases over the past week, according to data from the Illinois Department of Public Health. Lemont (ZIP code 60439) has 524 cases of coronavirus reported as of Oct. 19, compared to 469 cases on Oct. 12.
There is no available information regarding the number of patients who are hospitalized or who have recovered per town.
School remains in session for Lemont's public schools. District 113A and Lemont High School both returned Sept. 28 with a hybrid approach.

District 113A is sharing data on COVID-19 in the schools, including information on the number of staff and students quarantined. The data was last updated on Oct. 16.
There is now a total of 63 students currently quarantined, which is an increase from the 23 students reported the week before. Five staff members are also currently quarantined, which is a decrease from 10 staff members who were quarantined the week previous.

There are three positive staff members currently, and four positive students. The total number of positive cases for students and staff since July 1 is 13.

Since testing began, IDPH is reporting a total of 10,365 tests have been performed for ZIP code 60439.
According to the Cook County Medical Examiner, there have also been eight coronavirus related deaths in Lemont since March 16. The deaths included one woman in her 50s, one woman in her 60s, one woman in her 70s, one man in his 60s, one man in his 70s and three women above 80. The most recent death was reported on Oct. 4.
DuPage County Health Department has also reported one coronavirus related death in Lemont.
Franciscan Village in Lemont is also currently experiencing an "outbreak," according to the nursing home. The facility continues to do weekly widespread testing and reported six new cases on Oct. 16. According to its website, the facility reported three new residents and three new associates have tested positive for the coronavirus.
In addition, two independent living residents, who were tested via their doctor, were also positive.
The three residents are all residents in the Mother Theresa Skilled Nursing, the facility said. Two of the workers who tested positive are direct care workers in Mother Theresa. The associates last worked on Oct. 12 and Oct. 13. A third associate, an outside therapy partner, was symptomatic and was tested via their doctor and last worked on Oct. 8.
Visitors to Mother Theresa are currently restricted and new admissions are suspended.
As of Monday, Illinois' coronavirus case count was 347,161 and the coronavirus has claimed the lives of 9,236 Illinois residents.
The state has also developed resurgence criteria to identify early but significant increases of coronavirus transmission. With the new criteria, the state also developed new emergency management regions, and Lemont, as part of suburban Cook County, is now part of region 10.
According to IDPH, as of data available on Oct. 19, region 10 has a test positivity rate of 6.8 percent. Hospital availability for region 10 has 26 percent of medical-surgical beds available and 31 percent of ICU beds available.
Nearby regions 7 and 8, which include both the neighboring counties of DuPage and Will, are at two days of above 8 percent positivity. New mitigations are issued when the positivity rate is above 8 percent for three days.
