84 Cases Of Coronavirus Reported In Lemont Area: IDPH
Over the past week, the number of Lemont's positive coronavirus cases increased by six.
LEMONT, IL — The number of Lemont's coronavirus cases increased by six cases over the past week, according to data from the Illinois Department of Public Health. Lemont (ZIP code 60439) has 84 cases as of May 29, compared to 78 cases on May 22, which represents a 7.7 percent increase.
Lemont does have two nursing home facilities which have reported cases, which could contribute to the total case count for the village. Franciscan Village has reported four cases total, as well as one death. Lemont Center has also reported five deaths and nine cases at its facility as of May 23.

Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox reported a decrease of coronavirus inpatients once again at the hospital when compared to last week, according to data provided to Patch. As of noon Friday, the hospital told Patch it has 26 inpatients who have tested positive for the coronavirus and 11 persons under investigation.
In Lemont, many restaurants and bars are now offering outdoor seating and the Lemont Park District has started opening some amenities.

IDPH is also reporting a total of 1,012 tests have been performed for ZIP code 60439. According to the Cook County Medical Examiner, there have also been five coronavirus related deaths in Lemont since March 16. The deaths included one woman in her 50s, one woman in her 60s, one woman in her 70s, one man in his 60s, and one man in his 70s. There is no available information regarding the number of patients who have recovered per town.
As of Friday, Illinois' coronavirus case count was 117,455 and the coronavirus has claimed the lives of 5,270 Illinois residents. In suburban Cook County, there are 29,319 cases of the coronavirus and 1,272 related deaths.
