New Lemont Fire Chief Sworn In

Jareczek began his career with Lemont in 1992 as a full-time firefighter/paramedic.

LEMONT, IL — Frank Jareczek has been sworn in as the new fire chief of Lemont Fire Protection District. Jareczek was sworn in at the district's board of trustees meeting Oct. 17.

Jareczek succeeds George Rimbo as chief. Rimbo retired in August after working for the district for 31 years.

According to the fire district, Jareczek began his career with Lemont in 1992 as a full-time firefighter/paramedic. He has been promoted through the ranks, serving as lieutenant, and battalion chief. He was promoted to fire chief in September.

Jareczek has an associate degree in applied science, a bachelor's in management and a master's in business administration. He has also completed the Illinois Office of the State Fire Marshal Chief Fire Officer program, the district said.
