Vigil, Memorial Service Planned in Honor of Teen Struck by Train

A vigil will be held Friday evening in honor of Lexi Turner, a 17-year-old girl who died after being struck by a train near Lemont Wednesday night. Her death has been ruled an accident.

Community members are invited to gather at 6:30 p.m., at the tennis courts at Lemont High School, 800 Porter St., where Turner was a senior. All are then invited to Community Christian Church, 106 Stephen St., to assist with making green ribbons for supporters to wear during a memorial service to be held Monday.

A memorial service is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 7 from 4 to 7 p.m., at Community Christian Church. All are welcome.
