Driver Stopped In Traffic Later Arrested For DUI: Police
Libertyville police determined she had been driving drunk after speaking with her and conducting field sobriety tests, police said.

A woman who police spotted in a stopped her car in the southbound lanes of traffic on Milwaukee Avenue was later arrested for drunken driving, police said. A Libertyville Police Department officer came across the stopped vehicle on Milwaukee Avenue near Broadway Street at 4:17 a.m. on Dec. 9. The officer approached the vehicle suspecting the driver needed help, according to a Libertyville Police Department police report.
While speaking with the driver, the officer noticed a strong odor of alcohol, according to the police report, and the driver failed field sobriety tests.
The driver, who was identified as Maria L. Cuevas, 49, of the 700 block of 12th Street in North Chicago, was arrested and her vehicle was towed.

She was processed at the police department and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. She was released after posting her driver’s license and a $1,000 personal recognizance bond, according to the police report.
She is next expected in court on Jan. 4.
