Drunken Driver Kicked 3 Officers, Spat On Security Guard: Police

LIBERTYVILLE, IL — A 21-year-old Gurnee woman faces felony charges for allegations she kicked three police officers and spat in the face of a security officer at Condell Medical Center after being arrested for drunken driving last month.

A Libertyville Police Department officer pulled the woman's black Mini Cooper over at about 2 a.m. on Feb. 26 after observing the vehicle, which was headed north on Milwaukee Avenue near Cook Street at a high rate of speed at the time, swerve in between lanes, according to a police report.

The officer performed field sobriety tests on the woman, who was identified as Isabella Sierra, 21, and then told her she was under arrest, according to the news release. Sierra resisted and kicked two police officers in their legs while they tried to take her into custody, police said.

While being processed at the Libertyville Police Department, she kicked a third police officer in the leg, and prevented the officer from being able to process her and take into custody, according to police. She was then transported to Condell Medical Center to be evaluated for alcohol intoxication where she spat in the face of the security officer, according to the police report.

Sierra, of the 6000 block of Eagle Ridge Drive in Gurnee, now faces several charges, including aggravated battery, driving under the influence of alcohol, three counts of obstruction of a police officer, three counts of battery, three counts of resisting a police officer, illegal transportation of alcohol and improper lane usage.

Bail has been set at $20,000 for Sierra.
