Man Made Up Gunman Story to Get Out of Work: Authorities
The Mundelein man has been sentenced after pleading guilty to felony disorderly conduct in connection with the bogus 911 call.
MUNDELEIN, IL — A 47-year-old Mundelein man who called 911 and claimed there was a gunman at his place of employment as a way to get out of work early as been sentenced to jail time after he entered a guilty plea Wednesday to a felony disorderly conduct charge, according to the Daily Herald. Antonio P. Fletcher has been sentenced to 350 days in jail and ordered to pay $1,227 in court fines and fees
He called 911 on May 6 and falsely claimed there was a man with a gun who was threatening employees at Ruprecht Co. in Mundelein, which lead authorities to evacuate the building. They later traced the call to Fletcher's cell phone and determined he left work early and made the call so his bosses wouldn't notice he'd left, according to the Daily Herald.
