Police Continue To Investigate 'Possible Homicide' Case
More charges have been filed as police continue to investigate the disappearance of a 51-year-old Mundelein man.
LAKE COUNTY, IL — A Mundelein man who was previously arrested during the investigation into the disappearance of Ruslan Furman, 51, is now facing new charges.
Authorities said Dmitry Bogatiryov, 52, was initially taken into custody in November along with another man after investigators executed search warrants connected to the missing person investigation, according to media reports.
During those searches, deputies reportedly found firearms and large amounts of cannabis, leading to drug and weapons charges against both men. Bogatiryov was recently arrested again after investigators conducting another search allegedly discovered more cannabis and ammunition at his residence, violating his pretrial release conditions, according to the Lake & McHenry County Scanner.

Prosecutors have said the case was possibly a homicide several times in court, according to the media report. A petition to deny pre-trial release for Bogatiryov was granted following his second arrest.
Furman was last known to live in the 16500 block of North Route 83 in unincorporated Mundelein and had not been seen for more than a week when deputies began investigating his disappearance.
