Sales Slow for Brainerd Bricks

The District 128 Foundation for Learning has been selling bricks from the demolished building at $10 apiece.

District 128 is still looking to sell 650 bricks from the old Brainerd building in Libertyville, the Chicago Tribune reports.

At a recent fund-raiser, only 28 of the bricks were sold over two hours. The 97-year-old building was demolished fall spring, yielding 1,000 bricks that the District 128 Foundation for Learning has been selling at $10 apiece, according to the article.

The foundation had a much better turnout during an event on May 9 where they sold 316 bricks, according to the newspaper.

All proceeds from the brick sales will benefit the Foundation for Learning and its programs that support students and innovative learning programs at Libertyville High School and Vernon Hills High School.
