• Lake County plastic bag recycling program ending next year: 'It just didn't take off' (chicagotribune.com) — Lincolnshire residents who've been using the orange Hefty ReNew bags for hard-to-recycle plastics should know the program will end June 30, 2027, after struggles finding end users for the material. The Lake County initiative, which also involved nearby towns like Deerfield and Gurnee, saw mixed participation but was praised by some environmental advocates as a meaningful, if imperfect, pilot effort.
