Fatal Lisle Pedestrian Crash Was Not Hit-And-Run, Cops Say

Police say the man who was fatally hit by a car Monday had been crossing against a traffic signal and that the car that hit him did not flee

LISLE, IL — Police say the crash that killed a pedestrian in Lisle Monday was not a hit-and-run, an investigation revealed.

Investigating officers were initially told the victim, Robert York, 52, had been hit by one car and then hit by another while he was walking near the intersection of Ogden and Yackley around 5:45 a.m. According to initial reports, the car that fatally hit York fled.

“The investigation has proven that to not be the case," Lisle Police Chief Kevin Licko said in a statement."
