Lisle Cops To Increase Patrols For Labor Day Weekend 2021

LISLE, IL — As Labor Day weekend approaches, Lisle police plan to crack down on drivers who are under the influence, are driving distracted or are not wearing a seat belt. The increased patrols begin Aug. 20 and will last through Sept. 7.

“We need our community to understand that it’s up to each of us to make the smart decision to
drive sober on Labor Day and every day,” Lisle Police Chief Ron Wilke said in a statement.

Wilke added, "Motorists in Lisle should expect stepped-up impaired driving patrols and seat belt enforcement, particularly at night when seat belt usage rates are at their lowest."

Lisle police are encouraging residents to select a designated sober driver and to prevent friends and family members from getting behind the wheel of a car if they have been drinking or using drugs.

Lisle Police Department's Labor Day initiative is part of the statewide "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" and "Click It or Ticket" campaigns.
