Lisle Coronavirus Update: Weekly Positivity Rate Decreases

To date, there have been 8 coronavirus-related deaths in the village.

LISLE, IL — The number of coronavirus cases in Lisle has increased by 4 percent in the past week, according to information from the DuPage County Health Department (DCHD).

As of Sept. 9, the village had reported 270 cases of the new coronavirus. Those numbers had increased to 281 as of Sept. 16.

To date, the village has had 8 coronavirus-related deaths, according to DCHD.

In nearby Naperville, the number of coronavirus cases had increased by nearly 6 percent. As of Sept. 9, there were 1,127 cases reported in Naperville. The number of cases reported in Naperville as of Sept. 9 was 1,191.

The total number of coronavirus-related deaths in Naperville has been 38 since DCHD began tracking coronavirus statistics.

According to the DCHD website, there were no active coronavirus cases in Lisle as of Sept. 16. In contrast, there were 12 active cases in Lisle on Sept. 9. According to county health officials, these numbers could be "much higher" due to unreported or untested cases.

DuPage County recently reached a warning level for coronavirus transmission, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH). IDPH reports that DuPage County reached the warning level due to an increase in weekly deaths and in cases per 100,000 people.
