📰 News we're reading
• Bears in McCook (lionnewspaper.com) — A bold proposal from tiny McCook could bring a massive new Chicago Bears stadium, hotel, and entertainment complex to the corner of 55th Street and East Avenue, just minutes from local schools and neighborhoods. Village leaders pitch it as a way to keep the team in Illinois, while fans weigh the tradeoffs with Soldier Field and possible moves to Arlington Heights or Indiana.

• Illinois breakfast sausage products recalled with concerns of foreign material (meatpoultry.com) — A McCook-based Fontanini Foods plant has recalled more than a ton of frozen pork breakfast sausage links after customers reported finding clear, hard plastic in the product. While the recalled cases were shipped to restaurants in other states, federal officials warn some boxes may still be in freezers and urge anyone with them not to serve or eat the links.
