3 Deaths, 29 Cases Of Coronavirus At Clarendale Of Mokena: IDPH

There have been no new cases or signs/symptoms since May 23, the facility told Patch.

MOKENA, IL — Clarendale of Mokena, a senior living facility in Mokena, has 29 cases of the coronavirus and three related deaths, the facility told Patch Monday. The May 29 data from the Illinois Department of Public Health also reports 29 cases of the coronavirus, as well as three related deaths.

Director of Community Relations Kathryn Dietrich told Patch that there have been no new cases or signs/symptoms since May 23. There have also been 15 recovers at the facility, including eight residents and seven staff.

"We continue to follow increased precautions and follow the guidance of the CDC along with the Will County and Illinois health departments," Dietrich said.

IDPH is now sharing the case numbers of residents and staff of long-term care facilities. The data is reported starting from the beginning of the coronavirus response on Jan. 24. Numbers are current as of May 23.

The cases included in the data include lab confirmed cases and cases meeting the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention outbreak case definition. Facilities report the data to local health departments, who then report to the Illinois Department of Public Health.

Clarendale of Mokena is managed by Life Care Services. Life Care Services manages senior living locations across the country, including several in the Chicago area. Clarendale of Mokena, 21536 S. Wolf Road, provides independent living, assisted living and memory care.

In Will County, IDPH is reporting there are 744 cases of coronavirus in long-term care facilities and 143 related deaths. Meadowbrook Manor of Bolingbrook has the highest number of cases in the county, as well as the highest number of coronavirus related deaths in Will County. The facility has 188 cases, and 40 related deaths, according to IDPH.

There is a total of 17,098 cases of the coronavirus in long-term care facilities in Illinois, and 2,744 related deaths.
