• Mokena's Curtain Call Theatre Takes On 'God of Carnage' (patch.com) — Mokena's Curtain Call Theatre is staging the sharp-witted comedy "God of Carnage" with two alternating casts, ID and EGO, over consecutive weekends this fall. Local theatergoers can choose which ensemble's onstage meltdown to witness—or see both—at the Front Street venue, where tickets are $22 and the 80-minute show features adult language and themes.
   

• Startling map shows how Illinois' tornado count compares to rest of U.S. (nbcchicago.com) — Mokena is among several south suburbs hit in a recent string of tornadoes during what's become a record-breaking severe weather year for Illinois. National Weather Service data show the state leading the nation in tornado reports, with repeated tracks slamming many of the same communities and meteorologists warning that the active pattern may continue.
