Palos Health Center Approved In Mokena

Construction on the facility will begin in the spring.

MOKENA, IL — At its Jan. 27 meeting, the Mokena village board approved a development proposal for a 3-story, Palos Health medical facility at a currently vacant property at the southwest corner of Route 30 and Owens Road. According to board documents, the proposal is from St. George Corporation on behalf of Palos Health.

The 49,330-square-foot facility would offer primary and specialty care services, a walk-in clinic and diagnostic testing, board documents state. It would employ 100 people when in full operation.

According to the village presentation at the board meeting, site is 5.45 acres, and the building will have 219 parking spaces. There will be access from Owens Road, and no access from Route 30.

According to board documents, the village's site plan and architectural review committee also unanimously recommended the proposal. At the Jan. 20 meeting of the village board, the board reviewed the proposal and suggested minor changes, board documents state. The project has now been formally approved.

Construction is expected to start in the spring.
