Boy Dies After Being Pulled from Water at Jericho Lake Park
Rescue divers pulled a 9-year-old boy from Jericho Lake in Montgomery on Sunday evening after he had been submerged for almost 45 minutes.

Rescue divers pulled a young boy from in Montgomery Sunday evening after he had been under the water for about 43 minutes, Sugar Grove fire officials said.
According to Gary Baum, assistant chief with the Sugar Grove Fire Department, firefighters were dispatched to Jericho Lake at 6:04 p.m. for reports of a 9-year-old boy under the water.

Four divers searched for the boy beneath the surface of the lake, in zero visibility, while firefighters in two boats looked for him from above, Baum said.
The boy was found at 6:47 p.m. in 12 feet of water, Baum said. He was transported to Provena Mercy Medical Center in Aurora. No names have been released, and no further information is yet available.

Jericho Lake is a Fox Valley Park District park, and park district police were on scene. Sugar Grove Fire was assisted by firefighters from Aurora and Montgomery and Countryside fire departments, and Montgomery and Aurora police.
