Heating It Up, Computer Style, or Get the Dust Out, Buster!

Did you know that a little cleaning will make your computer last longer and in some cases use less electricity?

OK, lets talk dust here—that little stuff floating around everywhere in your home and business. Did you know the number one cause of computer hardware failure is heat caused by dust? I have seen computer cooling fans and heat pipes rendered dead by so much dust that the hard drives and processors simply say "I give up" and croak.  The facts are a CPU (Computer Processor) runs uncooled at around 180 - 450 degrees, and hard drives at 50-100 degrees above room temperature. The only way the computer has to save these items is by moving air around within your laptop and computer.

So please take a can of compressed air to your equipment today. Open the sides of that desktop and look around. (Turn items off first.) Look at the laptop's cooling vents.....if they're blocked, give them what for with a little air.

Also, remember to always back up everything. The data you save today will keep you happy and in some cases make others happy also.
