Kendall County Sheriff's Office Hires 2 New Patrol Deputies

Both new recruits will undergo 14-week academy training sessions, the office said.

KENDALL COUNTY, IL — The Kendall County Sheriff's Office has hired two new Deputy Sheriffs to fill vacant positions in its Patrol Division. Sheriff Dwight A. Baird swore in Kurt S. Siegmeyer and Colin S. Pickens on June 21. Both new hires will be attending Basic Police Training Academy starting Monday for 14 weeks, the office said.

After completing the academy training, Siegmeyer and Pickens will begin the field training program. They will each be paired with an experienced field training officer for the "rigorous" 14-week program, the office said.

Siegmeyer attended Southern Illinois University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Political Science in International Relations, the office said. Siegmeyer also worked as a corrections officer for the Cook County Sheriff’s Department.

Pickens attended Illinois State University where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Psychology, the office said. Pickens also completed an internship with Naperville Police Department.
