Last Chance to Buy Rain Barrels at a Cheap Price
The village of Montgomery is offering rain barrels at $65 a pop, but only until Friday.
Tick, tick, tick. That’s the sound of the clock winding down on another great opportunity.
Welcome back to Last Chance, where we spotlight a community event or a deal with a deadline. This week, we’re talking about , which the is offering for the rock-bottom price of $65 each.
These barrels are made of recycled plastic, and will allow you to capture rainwater for use in gardening, lawn watering and feeding house plants. They’re made available through the Conservation Foundation, which estimates that the average household uses 40 percent of its water in the yard.

So the rain barrels will cut down on water bills. They’re equipped with screens to keep out insects and debris, and have a slot for a hose. Oh, and one more thing: they’re only available until Friday.
That’s right, the village will stop taking orders for the barrels at the end of the day on Friday. The barrels will be available for pickup on May 24. After that, you won’t be able to buy one again at this price until next year.
